Kaepernick's tattoos
Colin kaepernick's tattoos is getting lots of ink. The San Francisco 49ers' star sub's arms and back are covered with tattoos, not an unusual look among athletes. But when you play quarterback and replace a proven winner like Alex Smith for two victories as a starter, your arm gets lots of attention.
AOL Fanhouse columnist David Whitley reignited the debate recently when he criticized San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick's tattoos. After Whitley, a columnist with a national following, compared Kaepernick to a prison inmate, he was savaged on the Internet and called a racist. Whitley defended himself, pointing out that he has two adopted black daughters and insisting that his views on tattoos are a generational thing. If you've ever done a story about a man who started getting tattoos as a senior citizen, as I have, you'll find that excuse doesn't cut it.
Colin's a fairly religious kid, but he's not in your face about it," Kaepernick's father, Rick Kaepernick said. "It's more about him and what he believes. …Instead of saying that Colin does all these great things and donates his time to children, this guy is going to make him out like a gangster. Really? I guess you just have to roll with the punches."
